Our Mission

WeGo Community Theatre is a volunteer-based 501(c)(3) non-profit arts organization that provides our diverse, multicultural community with opportunities to come together to share time, talent, and the enjoyable process of building life-long relationships in a collaborative and creative environment by producing quality, family-friendly, live-theatre productions.

Our Vision

WeGo Community Theatre is dedicated to producing high-quality live-theatre entertainment that provides opportunities for self-discovery, individual development, and cultural enrichment by cultivating the creative energy of our youth and creating a safe, inclusive environment for all.

Our Values

We are dedicated to creating opportunities for involvement—of both the families of our performers and the community at large—in enriching creative theatre productions that appeal to diverse audiences.

We provide a program of positive educational experiences in all aspects of theatre from the time of auditions to the last performance while continuously encouraging our participants throughout the process.

We strive to create quality entertainment and to inspire appreciation for dramatic arts while building the self-esteem and confidence of the participants.

We promote the values of respect, confidence, and unity. We work to create a safe space for all performers to explore, to learn, and to thrive.

We foster an open, safe, inclusive environment for people to express who they are. Believing that all individuals possess a talent and that everyone has something to contribute, we are a no-cut theatre.

We Believe That Community Theatre...

  • is vital to the cultural life of the community.

  • encourages participants to “give back” to their community through their artistic talents.

  • creates community by bringing together diverse groups of all ages and backgrounds.

  • has a place for everyone.

  • enriches the lives of those who take an active part in it as well as those in the community who benefit from the productions.

  • creates a working environment that encourages collaboration and creativity.

  • improves trust through risk-taking and social interaction in drama that develops trust in self, others, and the process.

  • brings an atmosphere of play to learning which improves motivation and reduces stress.

  • allows us to see perspectives different from our own.

  • provides shared experiences—with live actors and live audience members—that are invaluable for human connection.

  • promotes education and literacy.

  • builds confidence and self-esteem while teaching respect, responsibility, and commitment.
